Biografi	Jason Diefenthaler is a Managing Director and Head of Tax-Exempt Strategies for Schwab Asset Management. In this role, he is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing Schwab Asset Management’s tax-exempt fixed income investment strategies, including separately managed accounts, actively managed mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Mr. Diefenthaler also leads the portfolio management team for the Wasmer SchroederTM Municipal Bond Strategies and is responsible for day-to-day co-management of several tax-free Schwab Funds®. Previously, Mr. Diefenthaler was the director of tax-exempt portfolio management at Wasmer Schroeder & Company, LLC (Schwab Asset Management became the investment adviser for Wasmer Schroeder Strategies in 2020). He oversaw all tax-exempt strategies and management of the Wasmer Schroeder High Yield Municipal Fund, which subsequently reorganized into the Schwab Opportunistic Municipal Bond Fund. Mr. Diefenthaler began his career with Wasmer Schroeder in 2000. He was a credit analyst before becoming a portfolio manager. Mr. Diefenthaler earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida State University. He is a member of the Southern Municipal Finance Society and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
James Cortez	Senior Portfolio Manager	2019	now
Biografi	James Cortez is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Schwab Asset Management. He is a member of the team responsible for management of the Schwab Tax-Free Bond Funds and has been a portfolio manager with Schwab Asset Management since 2019. Mr. Cortez joined the firm in 2006 as a director on Schwab Asset Management’s municipal research team, responsible for conducting credit research for municipal fixed income funds and money market funds with a focus on healthcare and higher education credits. Prior to joining Schwab, Mr. Cortez was an associate director in Standard & Poor’s healthcare group. Mr. Cortez earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois. Mr. Cortez is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society San Francisco.
John Khodarahmi	Senior Portfolio Manager	2015	now
Biografi	John Khodarahmi is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Schwab Asset Management. He is a member of the team responsible for management of the Schwab Tax-Free Bond Funds. Prior to joining Schwab in 2015, Mr. Khodarahmi was a vice president and senior municipal trader at Eaton Vance Management for the firm’s tax-free bond funds. Previous to Eaton Vance, he was a vice president and portfolio manager at both Banc of America Montgomery Securities and Thomas Weisel Partners, managing corporate cash and high net worth portfolios. Prior to these roles, Mr. Khodarahmi was a municipal trader and underwriter for Fleet Securities, Inc. (now part of Bank of America). Mr. Khodarahmi earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Boston University.
Kenneth M. Salinger	Managing Director	2008	2023
Biografi	Kenneth Salinger, CFA, Vice President and Head of Tax-Exempt Strategies, leads the portfolio management team for Schwab’s national and state-specific tax-free bond funds and municipal money market funds. He also has overall responsibility for all aspects of the management of each of the tax-free bond funds. Prior to joining Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc in 2008, Mr. Salinger was a senior portfolio manager at Wells Capital Management, working on a team that managed municipal bond assets. He worked at American Century Investments from 1992 to 2006, where he was a vice president and senior portfolio manager, responsible for daily management of a number of national and state specific municipal bond funds. Mr. Salinger has worked in fixed-income asset management since 1994.
John Shelton	Portfolio Manager	2007	2015
Biografi	Shelton is a portfolio manager of Charles Schwab Investment Management. He joined the firm in 2000 and has worked in fixed-income asset management since 1998. Shelton holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Jeffrey M. Mortimer	Director	2008	2010
Biografi	Jeffrey M. Mortimer, CFA, has been the primary portfolio manager in March 2014. Jeffrey is Director of Investment Strategy for BNY Mellon Wealth Management and has been employed by The Bank of New York Mellon since June 2012. He has been employed by Dreyfus since March 2013. Prior to joining The Bank of New York Mellon, he was a partner at Bainco International Investors from September 2010 to May 2012. He also held various positions in financial management with Charles Schwab Investment Management from October 1997 to July 2010. Jeffrey holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a BS degree from Babson College. He became a CFA charterholder in 1997.

Biografi	Kimon heads the fixed income portfolio management team and has overall responsibility for Schwab’s taxable and municipal bond and money market funds. Prior to joining CSIM in 1997, he worked at Lehman Brothers as VP and fixed income institutional salesman. Before Lehman, he served as a Sr portfolio manager for Barclays Global Investors. He became a CFA charter holder in 1995. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1985 and a BA from Claremont McKenna College in 1981.
Joanne M. Larkin	Vice President	1992	2007
Biografi	Joanne joined CSIM in 1992 as Portfolio Manager responsible for daily trading and management of all national and state-specific tax-free bond funds. In 1997 she became head of the Municipal Trading Desk overseeing the management of the Municipal Money Market Funds. Prior to that, she was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager for the Shearson Lehman California Municipal Bond Fund. From 1985 to 1988, she was a Portfolio Manager at E.F. Hutton. She holds a BA from Rosemont College.

Previously, he worked as a vice president and portfolio manager with Federated Investors, and as an economist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Ward holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
