Before joining Janus in 2007 as a research analyst, Mr. Lovell was a director at ClearBridge Advisors, covering companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Previously, he was managing director and founding partner of Saranac Capital, LP, where he was the health care sector portfolio manager. Mr. Lovell also worked at Salomon Brothers Asset Management as a director and later managing director of the health care team. He began his career at Bear, Stearns & Co. as an equity research analyst covering biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and life science tool companies. Mr. Lovell received his bachelor of arts degree, with a double major in chemistry and economics, from Bowdoin College and his MBA from Tulane University. He has 24 years of financial industry experience.
